Dendrobates auratus "pena blanca"

Pena blanca are a stunning morph of auratus that twnd to be shy as juvies and get bolder as adults.  The stricking contrast of the dark and light with traces of blue make this a show stopper. This morph starts out almost black and develops white to cream banding as they grow. 

A small group of 3-5 would do well in an 18x24 or larger, well planted terrarium with plenty of hides.

Juvies are 2-5mths

Sub-adult 6-10mths

Adults 11+ months

First 2 pictures are typical coloration of juvies and last set of pictures show their adult coloration.
